Dosist sells the “dose pen” which delivers a specific mix of cannabis and herbs based on one of their six named formulas: bliss, sleep, calm, relief, arouse and passion. The product is an experience in itself and their retail store matches and enhances that. Whether you’re going to pick up all six of the dose pens or just in it for the rose flavored water (we’re not judging), the visit is worth your while.

Dosist’s product is an experience in itself and their retail store matches and enhances that. Dosist was founded in 2016 with a mission to create “the first cannabis products based on the science behind the plant.” They sell the “dose pen” which delivers a specific mix of cannabis and herbs based on one of their six named formulas: bliss, sleep, calm, relief, arouse and passion. Each pen has a precise amount of THC, CBD and additional natural herbs to enhance the chosen state of mind and body you are after, as each name suggests. The pen is available in two sizes: 50 doses (retails for ~$50) and 200 doses (retails for ~$100) and vibrates when you inhale one suggested dose so you can monitor your usage carefully.

PEOPLE

The people at the store are above and beyond. As you walk into the space you are carded and then paired with someone to introduce you to the product. Huge shout out to our store associate Uma who gave us a tour of the space and made the whole experience so memorable! She knew everything about the product top to bottom and her passion and energy was infectious. While Uma was the only store associate we really interacted with, the rest of the staff seemed equally energetic and treated consumers of all ages the same (which you might not expect from a store that sells weed). The attitude was friendly not salesy and made the whole store experience fun.

PLACE

Dosist has only two stores nationwide, both located in LA. We visited the location on Abbot Kinney, a trendy street near Venice Beach. The store’s aesthetic and layout perfectly fit the vibe of the area. You enter through a passageway towards a beautiful outdoor patio where you can relax and grab a cup of some fancy rose flavored water. From there you are guided to the store itself. It’s a single room but the natural light makes it feel spacious and the courtyard helps to regulate foot traffic. Each dose pen flavor has a mini wall of its own explaining the ingredients and how it is supposed to make you feel. You are encouraged to explore as long as you like and of course head back to hang out in the patio and drink some more fancy water (thank you don’t mind if we do…).

VIBES

Everything about the Dosist store makes for a memorable, educational and fun experience. Whether you’re going to pick up all six of the dose pens or just in it for the rose flavored water (we’re not judging), the visit is worth your while. Next time I’m in LA I would definitely go back… if nothing else to say hi to Uma and just maybe try the product itself this time…;).
